Below are described the main features and projects currently under development.

KB Versioning Support

The text mirror keeps Knowledge Base objects synchronized with their text representation (.gx files).

To do this, it writes the mirrored content to a single directory. However, a Knowledge Base can contain multiple versions. Previously, when switching to a different version in the IDE, the mirror directory could still represent the previously active version and therefore had to be re-exported.

Until the build published on September 24, 2026, there was also no way for an agent to view or change the active KB version. This operation was only available through the IDE.

The model behind this feature is that each KB version corresponds to a Git branch in the mirror directory. The directory used by the text mirror is a Git repository, and each KB version has its own branch, named after the corresponding version.

Switching versions using the set_active_kb_version tool performs both operations at the same time: it switches the active KB version and checks out the corresponding Git branch. It also updates the text representation so that the mirror directory accurately reflects the version that was left active.

Available starting with the GeneXus for Agents build published on September 25, 2026:

  • gx CLI: 2.0.0+6587dfc7ec5a6ff0bce31eeae3e0dfd1f54316ca
  • MCP Server: 19.3.503

This feature requires Git to be installed.

Forms support

When using GeneXus for Agents UI objects with forms are exported and imported as part of the corresponding GeneXus objects. The Nexa Skill supports creating and modifying these forms.

GAM skill

The GeneXus for Agents setup includes the gam skill, which provides AI agents with guidance to perform GeneXus Access Manager (GAM) tasks in GeneXus applications.

The setup automatically installs the gam skill in the corresponding Agentic CLI folder (%USERPROFILE%/CLI). For example, when using Claude Code, it is installed in %USERPROFILE%/.claude.

Pattern improvements

Improvements are underway to enhance the application of Patterns when working with GeneXus for Agents. These improvements include changes to the way Patterns are applied in GeneXus 18.
