GeneXus Next Teams are workspaces that group users and resources within GeneXus Next. Each Team operates independently, managing its own members and resources, and can work on one or more projects simultaneously.
Note: This feature is currently under development. Therefore, this document is divided into two sections: Vision and State of the Art.
With Teams, you will be able to:
- Group users and resources by Team.
- Control access to projects and resources.
- Avoid unnecessary overlaps between Teams.
- Separate the work of different areas or clients.
A company subscribes to a single GeneXus Next plan but has the flexibility to add more resources later. These resources can be allocated across different workgroups using Teams.
Suppose the company uses GeneXus Next to manage two separate projects:
Each project requires its own Team (workgroup) resources, and these must be kept separate for privacy or organizational reasons. The administrator creates two Teams: Team A and Team B. They assign a GeneXus server and a Globant Enterprise AI resource to each Team. The administrator then designates a person responsible for Team A and another for Team B. The person in charge of Team A adds a certain number of users to their Team, and the person in charge of Team B adds different users to theirs.
When users assigned to Teams enter GeneXus Next:
- They log in with their user account.
- They select the Team they want to work with (for example, Team A).
- Everything they view or create is associated with that Team’s resources.
If a user belongs to multiple Teams, they can switch between them depending on the project they're working on.
In GeneXus Next Start, Teams are displayed as follows:

As of July 2025, users who log in to either GeneXus Next Desktop or GeneXus Next Start are assigned to a personal Team.
This personal Team is linked to a free GeneXus Next plan, which includes a limited free plan for Globant Enterprise AI. Specifically:
When you log in, you receive:
- A personal Team in GeneXus Next that connects to a specific organization in Globant Enterprise AI.
- An organization with a monthly usage limit of USD 10 for LLM capabilities.
Note: At this stage, managing Teams and shared resources is not yet available for GeneXus Next Beta Testers.
