GeneXus Next - Compatibility Section

This document provides an overview of the compatibility issues and considerations to take into account when adopting GeneXus Next, along with links to more detailed information.

XPZ file Import

GeneXus Next Desktop supports importing XPZ files in GeneXus 18 format. 

If your XPZ file was created with a previous version, you must first convert it to GeneXus 18. You can do this in one of the following ways:

• Import an XPZ created with a version prior to GeneXus 18 using any GeneXus 18 version; the file is automatically converted.
• Use the ConvertExportFile MSBuild Task.

Removed Features

The functionalities listed below have been discontinued:

• .NET Framework Generator. You may use the GeneXus .NET Generator or the GeneXus Java Generator instead.
  If you try to build an environment with this generator, the following error is displayed:

error: Environment '.NET Framework Environment' has at least generator 'Default (.NET Framework)' that targets an unsupported platform.

• Conversational Flows object. It is no longer available in the New object dialog. To define similar solutions, you can use alternatives based on Globant Enterprise AI, such as defining an Agent object.
• Editing or viewing Theme objects.
• HTML Forms in Web Panel objects and Transaction objects (only Abstract Layouts are available).
• Win Forms.
• Text screens in Transaction objects.
• Menu Bar objects.
• Work Panel objects.
• Use of HTML to edit Document objects or the Documentation Tab of objects (only Markdown is supported).
